Manage insurance – with a protection score and AI check
Are you properly covered – or paying twice for the same thing while real gaps remain? ContractLife collects all your policies in one place, works out a protection score and explains the small print in plain words.
Free · no commission · just you and your data
Flying blind on insurance
Personal liability, contents, income protection, car, perhaps legal expenses – policies pile up over the years. Hardly anyone still knows what exactly is covered, where things overlap and where a real gap is opening up. An app that manages insurance makes that blind flight visible.
Your digital insurance folder: how to get clarity
- Every policy in one place – sorted by category, with premiums and deadlines.
- Protection score 0–100 – shows immediately how well you are covered, including specific gaps.
- AI contract check – reads your policy and explains traps, clauses and savings potential in plain words, with a reference.
- Deadline guard – reminds you in good time when you want to cancel or switch an insurance policy.
Neutral, no commission
Important: ContractLife is not an insurance broker and receives no commission. The app gives neutral pointers and comparisons based on market data – the decision stays with you, and so does your data. All GDPR-compliant, on servers in Germany.
What does “managing insurance” mean?
Managing insurance means knowing, for every policy, what it covers, what it costs, when it can be cancelled and where the document is. That is deliberately separate from the question of which insurance you ought to take out — that is a question of advice, and ContractLife does not answer it. Management starts one step earlier: only once all policies sit side by side do overlaps and gaps become visible at all. Two liability policies from different stages of life otherwise go unnoticed for years, because both debit quietly. It does not help that policies rarely run to the calendar year and that premiums rise quietly — without an overview you notice both only once the deadline has passed. The legal framework sits in the German Insurance Contract Act, but the actual deadlines sit in your policy. The overview is therefore not an end in itself but the precondition for making an informed decision at all.
What the protection score is — and what it is not
The protection score summarises which typical areas of risk your stored policies cover, and expresses that as a value between 0 and 100. It is an orientation value, not a seal of approval and not advice: it knows neither your financial position nor your family situation in detail, and so cannot say what is right for you. What it can do is sharpen the question — by showing where nothing is stored at all and where several policies cover the same thing. Weighing up those pointers stays with you, with professional advice where appropriate.
Deadlines work differently with policies
Insurance contracts often follow different rules than mobile or streaming contracts:
| Particularity | What to watch out for |
|---|---|
| Insurance year | Often ends on 31 December, regardless of when you took the policy out. |
| Ordinary cancellation | Frequently three months before the end of the insurance year. |
| Premium increase | Usually triggers a right to extraordinary cancellation with its own short deadline. |
| Car insurance | Has its own widely known cut-off date at the end of November. |
| After a claim | Both sides can often end the contract outside the ordinary terms. |
General orientation, not insurance advice — what governs is your policy terms.
Where overlaps typically come from
Overlaps are rarely carelessness — they are the result of how lives unfold. When moving in together, both partners bring a contents policy, although a shared household generally needs only one. Children are covered up to certain limits by their parents' liability policy and still take out their own. Add-on cover for devices or travel often insures risks already covered by an existing policy or a credit card. And old contracts keep running because the amount is too small to notice. All of this only becomes visible once every policy sits side by side with its cover and premium — the decision about what stays is then yours.
How do I know whether I am properly covered?
ContractLife works out a protection score from 0 to 100 from your policies and shows where nothing is stored and where policies overlap – without brokering, purely as a neutral pointer based on market data.
Can the app explain my policy conditions?
Yes. The AI contract check reads your policy and explains traps, clauses and savings potential in around 60 seconds – with a reference including the page number.
Does the protection score replace advice?
No. The score is an orientation value based on the policies you have stored. It does not know your personal situation in full and makes no recommendation for particular providers or products.
When can I cancel an insurance policy?
Often at the end of the insurance year with three months' notice. On top of that come rights to extraordinary cancellation, for instance after a premium increase or a claim. What governs is your policy terms.
Does ContractLife get commission if I switch?
No. There is no brokering and no commission, neither from insurers nor from comparison portals. The app earns nothing from your decision.
Is ContractLife an insurance broker?
No. ContractLife does not broker insurance and receives no commission. The app only gives neutral pointers and comparisons based on market data.
What is a digital insurance folder?
An app that keeps every policy with its premium, term and notice period in one place — instead of a ring binder. Unlike many insurance apps, ContractLife is not funded by commissions: there is no brokering and your data is not passed on to insurers.
